This week, Dr. Wright has been visiting with our 5th-grade students to answer their questions and help them feel confident about their upcoming transition to middle school next year. He was joined by middle school principals Mr. Greg Welch (BMS) and Mrs. Jennifer Jones (GMS), who shared their excitement about welcoming these students into their schools! Students were excited and enthusiastic as they talked about their futures as Blazers and Warriors. From new opportunities to supportive staff, our future 6th graders are in great hands. We can't wait to see them take this next step and thrive in middle school.

🎉 February is CTAE Month! 🎉 Did you know we also have CTAE pathways at our middle schools? At Bagley Middle (BMS) and Gladden Middle (GMS), students are gaining hands-on experience in Technology, Media Arts, and Agriculture, building skills for the future! 🌟 🌱 Agriculture (Ms. Roseanna Stanley - GMS, Ms. Ruby McCracken - BMS) – Students explore animal science, plant growth, and agribusiness, learning about the industry that feeds the world! 💻 Technology (Mr. Aaron Stevenson - GMS, Mr. Ed McEntire - BMS) – From coding and robotics to rocket building and CO2-powered cars, students develop problem-solving and teamwork skills. Thanks to the TVA STEM Grant, BMS students will soon expand their coding experience with Sphero Bolts! 🎨 Media Arts (Mr. Trey Burger - BMS & GMS) – Students master graphic design, videography, animation, and digital marketing through projects like podcasting, 3D design, music production, and hype videos. 🎙🏆 This year, six students advanced to the State Media Arts Competition! 👏 CTAE empowers students to explore careers, gain real-world skills, and prepare for success in high school and beyond! #CTAEMonth #FutureReady #CareerLearning #YouAreMurray

Good morning, MCS families. Schools are open this morning and on a regular schedule, but due to overnight flooding from the rains, we have some roads that we’ve been advised to avoid with our buses. If you live on these roads, know that buses may not be able to pass, so we will not be able to pick-up students this morning: Closed for buses upon advice from local authorities: Caylor Rd. Old Federal Rd N. Norton Bridge Rd. Crandall Ellijay Hwy 225N at McEntire Circle Possibly hard to reach: Carters Rd. Fox Ridge Patricia Ave. Ford Rd. All other routes are running normally, but we could experience some short delays as our drivers are proceeding with caution. If we see a road we cannot pass that we haven’t been alerted to, service may be disrupted. If you live on one of the affected roads, please be careful as you are out and about this morning. We will be mindful of tardies and absences from these locations, but if you are going to be late or can’t make it to school due to the road conditions, please call your child’s school to let them know. If we have any further updates, we’ll be in touch. Thank you and be safe!

🎓 VILLA Parent Advisory Group Field Trip & Graduation Day! 🎓 Our first VILLA class has officially completed its courses, and we celebrated with a special field trip and graduation today! 🎉 ✅ We kicked off at Spring Place Elementary, where the Student Council proudly showcased the Helping Hands Pantry, and Assistant Principal Mr. Ridley gave us a tour of the school. 🌱 Next, we visited Bagley Middle School, where Mrs. McCracken and her FFA students demonstrated a chapter meeting and highlighted the amazing activities in our FFA programs. 💼 At North Murray High School, we explored some of the exciting CTAE classes and saw firsthand the incredible opportunities available to students. 🥁 We wrapped up the day with a tour of the new gym and band room at Murray County High School—a perfect finale to an inspiring day! Thank you to all the staff and students who made this day memorable.
