Thank you to our wonderful volunteers at the NMHS Chattanooga Food Bank Mobile Pantry that took place on 11/11/23. We had a total of 41 volunteers: NMHS students, a Woodlawn student, Dalton State students, and Aaron Phillips (MCS BOE Member). They were able to serve 766 households that consisted of 447 adults and 319 children. Thank you, Brandy Stone Beal and Jonathan Beal, for always serving this program!

🏫 Some of our dedicated principals enjoyed connecting with aspiring teachers at today's job fair hosted by Dalton State College. We're excited about the connections made and the potential for new talent to join our dynamic team. Mrs. Rich even found one of her past Timberwolves, Tucker Hemphill. We can't wait to welcome him back to MCS as an educator. Another story of student success from MCS.
If you or a certified teacher you know is interested in joining the MCS team, mark your calendar for our 2024 Job Fair, February 3rd, 9-12 at Woodlawn Elementary.

Happy School Psychologist Week!

School psychologists play a vital role in our school community, providing academic support and testing, consultation with teachers, parents, and other school staff, guidance, and advocacy for students to promote academic achievement. Thank you for all that you do!

Murray County Board of Education Achieves 2023
GSBA Exemplary School Board Status
The Murray County School District is proud to announce the achievement and status of the Georgia School Boards Association’s (GSBA) 2023 Exemplary School Board recognition.
The recognition program showcases best practices in school governance and leadership. GSBA recognizes good school board governance to foster educational community cultures in order to advance student learning and achievement.
The Murray County School Board met and/or exceeded the criteria set forth by GSBA to earn the honor of a 2023 Exemplary Board.
The GSBA Governance Team Recognition Program was developed by Georgia superintendents and board members based on the state board of education’s standards for effective governance to recognize exemplary leadership.
In 1998, the Georgia School Boards Association was one of the first school board associations in the nation to develop a program of standards for local boards of education.
The GSBA Board recognition program is three-tiered. For more information on the program, you may visit the GSBA website for awards and recognition or to view the criteria for all program tiers.
Congratulations to our board, and thank you for all you do!
