The Murray County Cannery has announced its 2026 summer operating schedule, with processing dates beginning June 25 and continuing through August 6. The cannery opens at 8:00 a.m., and all produce should be available by 11:00 a.m. for processing. A special clean-up day for teachers only will be held on June 18, while August 6 will operate by appointment only.
The cannery provides both glass jar and can processing options and serves as a valuable community resource for preserving fresh produce and homemade items such as green beans, salsa, spaghetti sauce, apple butter, and more. Customers are responsible for preparing and packing their own jars or cans, while cannery staff assist with equipment operation and guidance. The Murray County Cannery is located on Magnolia Street behind the Murray County Schools Pre-K and Early Learning Center.
