Murray County Schools celebrated the graduation of its second cohort of students from the AME Program, Advancing Murray’s Entrepreneurs, marking another milestone for a program designed to support high school seniors who are already exploring business ownership. Offered at both Murray and North Murray high schools, AME connects students with local professionals and the Murray County Chamber of Commerce, giving them direct access to mentorship, guidance, and real-world insight. Throughout the year, students participate in guest speaker sessions, collaborative discussions, and hands-on learning experiences that help them better understand what it takes to launch and sustain a business.
In addition to classroom learning, students engage with the community through experiences like visits to local businesses in downtown Chatsworth, where they see firsthand how ideas can grow into successful ventures. By the end of the program, these young entrepreneurs have developed their own business concepts, strengthened their decision-making and communication skills, and built valuable connections that extend beyond the classroom. As the second class of AME graduates moves forward, they carry with them not only knowledge, but real experience, positioning them to continue growing their ideas and making an impact in Murray County and beyond.
