Murray County Schools celebrated an exciting milestone Friday with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that strengthens healthcare career pathways and creates new opportunities for students right here at home.
This partnership ensures that any Murray County Schools student enrolled in the Healthcare Pathway who completes a healthcare program at Dalton State College (DSC) or Georgia Northwestern Technical College (GNTC) will be guaranteed an interview with AdventHealth Murray or Hamilton Medical Center following graduation. The agreement represents a shared commitment to preparing students for meaningful careers while strengthening the local healthcare workforce.
Partners involved in the MOU include AdventHealth Murray, Hamilton Medical Center, Dalton State College, Georgia Northwestern Technical College, Murray County Schools, and the Murray County Chamber of Commerce. Together, these organizations are investing in students through dual enrollment opportunities, hands-on learning experiences, and direct connections from education to employment.
Following the MOU signing, some of our Healthcare Pathway seniors took part in a special pledge ceremony, committing to continue their education and dedication to careers in healthcare. This in-person experience allowed students to see firsthand the encouragement, support, and career opportunities waiting for them in Murray County.
Students who signed the pledge include:
Murray County High School: Chloe Davenport and Kalyn Bennett
North Murray High School: Landon Atkins, Raychel “Rose” Revis, Reece Norman, Carly Clark, and Tatum Tuck
Murray County Schools also extends a special thank you to Healthcare teachers Brittany Ross and McKensi Vaughn, as well as the district’s CTAE Department, for their continued dedication to building strong pathways that prepare students for success beyond graduation.
This partnership reflects what can be accomplished when education, industry, and community come together with a shared goal — supporting students and helping them step confidently into their futures.
