On Thursday November 9, 2017 Murray County Public Schools, in partnership with local city and county emergency response personnel, will be conducting a mock emergency drill.  The drill is designed to maximize collaboration between agencies, evaluate our interagency communication systems, maximize personnel, measure our resources, and establish additional protocols that will protect the students and citizens of our community in the times of crisis.

The scenario will emulate a train derailment in the Eton area close to Pleasant Valley Innovative School.  At approximately 9:30 a.m. we will begin the drill.  PVIS will be evacuated to a staging center.  All Murray County schools will be placed on soft lock down to maximize communication, but only temporarily.  The students, parents, and staff from PVIS will be involved in the mock drill to assess our reunification protocols.

This is a wonderful opportunity for our community and we thank everyone involved.  Should you have any questions concerning this matter, please do not hesitate to call.

Sincerely,

Eric J. McFee

Dr. Eric J. McFee,

Superintendent
